Saturday Sleuths: The Border State Burglary
April 26 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
$3
The Museums of Hopkinsville-Christian County is excited to announce the next installment of the new Saturday Sleuths program on April 26 from 10:30am-11:30am. Designed for children ages 6-12, Saturday Sleuths will invite students to become detectives and help solve a history mystery at the museum on the last Saturday of every month.
April’s program is entitled “The Border State Burglary.” From 1861 to 1865, the United States experienced a tragic civil war where northern and southern states fought each other. Many southern states separated from the U.S. to form the Confederate States, but Kentucky stayed a part of the Union as a border state. Christian County was often invaded by both sides, and the city of Hopkinsville was traded back and forth between the Union and the Confederacy throughout the war.
This month we’ll be investigating events that occurred during this time as we try to get to the bottom of a Civil War mystery while learning map skills.
The program will be held at the Pennyroyal Area Museum. The cost of the program is $3, but Museum Members will be given free admission.
